Current 5th grade students: Albion Middle School will host both a rah rah assembly and an evening for students and their parents/guardians to welcome them to middle school and get them acquainted to the course selection process. This typically occurs the end of January and/or beginning of February each school year.
Students wishing to attend a school other than their neighborhood school, the one assigned to them by geographic boundary, may apply to another school by submitting an open enrollment request online. The enrollment window opens December 1 and requests are approved on a first come, first served basis provided space is available.
Current 6th grade students: School counselors meet with current 6th grade students in February of each school year to discuss the 7th grade course selection process and hand out materials.
Current 7th grade students: School counselors meet with current 7th grade students in February of each school year to discuss the 8th grade course selection process and hand out materials.
Current 8th grade students: High Schools will reach out to families directly regarding the course selection process in either January or February of each school year. The Albion Middle School counselors will help coordinate with the high school counselors the course selection process and the entry of course requests into Skyward. We encourage 8th grade students to refer to their Skyward 4-year high school course plan to help them select their classes for their 9th grade year.
